One Week In…

It has been one week since I started my new adventure with GoDaddy and it has been amazing! But first, let me go back a bit. I have worked at a ton of places in my short life and for a lot of different kinds if people. Working in industries like fast food, retail, telecom, government, technology, and even running my own company has led me down a path I will never forget. It truly feels like this is the culmination of hard work and giving back to a community that just keeps giving.

Enough about that. Let’s talk about my first week in. The people at GoDaddy are incredibly warm and welcoming. I have known some of these people for days and some for years, but either way I feel like I am truly at home. It feels like I found my village and that is the greatest feeling in the world.

Every human has a need to feel welcome and appreciated and for the first time in a long time I feel truly appreciated. Leaving the agency I built with my husband was not easy (and building one is super hard), but this was the best decision we made together in all our years of joint decision making.

So thank you. Thank you to my husband for believing in me and pushing me to always be better, stronger, and for helping along the way. Thank you to my new team at GoDaddy for appreciating my skills and giving me this stellar opportunity. And Thank you to the WordPress community for helping me grow and teaching me so many new things these last years.

The Sandy of today is not the Sandy from 10 years ago and I am super happy about that. If you are just starting your career journey, trust me, it will not be what you expected. Learn along the way, pay attention to your trusted advisors, and know that you will find the career path that works for you. Let time be your friend and have patience on the journey. Find joy in the journey and you will find peace as well.

The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.

This community is full of my family and friends and I am so honored to be a part of it.
